Introduction

This map locates select pictures connected to S.T. Gill and Charles Sturt's "Narrative of an Expedition into Central Australia". An additional source for location information is Arrowsmith, 4 January 1849: Map of Captn. Sturt's route from Adelaide into the centre of Australia (NLA, MAP NK 2456/157). Images: Art work images are not stored but are dynamically displayed from the online services of: National Library of Australia (NLA) and State Library of New South Wales (SLNSW).

You can use the control at left to change the map background to a modern map or revert to the default Sturt's Narrative.
